DOMANDE FREQUENTI

How is the HB700 installed on the operating site?

HB700 works in continuity on the installation site which is prepared. Any repositioning of the machinery after the first installation is carried out by HORTObot staff. The predispostion and operative set up of HB700 takes place in the following phases:

  1. site inspection for verification of the unloading area and maneuvering spaces; predisposition activities
  2. HB700 is transported by truck and unloaded by mechanical arm near the field or the greenhouse of destination
  3. operative predispositions are setted up on the installation site
  4. installation, operative check and final testing
  5. professional training of personnel in charge of management.
Is attendance and assistance required when an HB700 works?

HB700 is autonomous for repetitive operations (e.g. aeration, irrigation, weeding, etc.) once the activities work cycle has been programmed; for some operations (e.g. sowing) operator intervention is required to connect the appropriate tool; for other operations (e.g. transplanting or harvesting) the machinery operates in collaborative mode through parking platform connected to HB700, with seat and backing bases for tools, that transport the operator over the specific operative area.

If HB700 is left unattended, will it be safe from vandalism and damage?

HB700 is not immune to vandalism. Any use of the HB700 outside its working perimeter is impossible, only the operator is able to remove the security checks.

How HB700 is recharged?

HB700 is connected to the 220vAC eletricity net, therefore waiting times for recharging the batteries are not necessary in normal conditions. However, HB700 has rechargeable batteries capable of offering sufficient autonomy to complete critical operations in the event of a sudden lack of electricity from the network; the batteries are recharged and managed automatically during normal machine operation. In presence of photovoltaic panels HB700 is recharged in the rest position.

How does HB700 react to a human being or an obstacle in its path?

HB700 has optical and acoustic indicators to signal its approximation to any operators placed in potentially dangerous positions. HB700 through other sensors detects obstacles both in the movement of the truck and in the movement of the machinery along the field. In the face of an obstacle detected or a potential collision, the machine stops all moving parts and signals the STOP operator to the remote operator requesting his intervention for recovery.

Have markers to set to delimit the soil on which HB700 works?

No markers are needed to delimit the operating area; during installation,  HORTObot staff places an open channel along the field to house the machine's power cable. The same channel acts as a mechanical reference for the automatic guiding system.

Which is the maximum size of the HB700 operating area?

For the HB700 model the operating area has a rectangular shape with a short side equal to the total length of the machine equal to 700 cm with a operative size for the management of the cultivable area equal to 620 cm.

The long side of the rectangle can go up to 100 meters. Longer lengths are optionally possible after conditions are checked out by HORTObot staff.

Can HB700 be used both in the open field and in the greenhouse?

Yes. For greenhouse use it is necessary to take into account the maximum height of the machinery from the ground which with the trolley reaches 210 cm. This means that for greenhouses with non-vertical side walls the maximum stroke of the trolley will be limited and consequently the width dimension of the cultivable area.
